If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment.                Job 36:11

What most of us know as the Serenity Prayer is only the first part of a prayer commonly attributed to Reinhold Niebuhr. Here is the entire prayer.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change;  Courage to change the things I can;  and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. Amen.

Do we walk by sight, trusting in what we can see and understand? Or do we walk by faith, trusting in the Lord and abiding in Him? A life of trust, dependant upon Him in every circumstance is a life of prayer. Continually seeking His will brings confidence of His direction, provision, protection and guidance for our lives.
